Kid Tough
Built tough, just like kids.
The Prevelo Zulu Three packs high performance mountain bike features into a 20-inch wheel size package. Every component is the real deal and is carefully chosen to provide the best performance and fit for young riders ready to tear up the trails. It features:
  1. Prevelo confidence inspiring low and narrow geometry. Prevelo geometry keeps the rider low, balanced and in control.
  2. Zulu specific slack head tube angle and short chain stays keeps the bike controlled over rough terrain.
  3. Lightweight aluminum frame with custom formed 6061 triple- butted tubing and TRAPT™ downtube profile.
  4. Available with a lightweight HEIR® 80mm travel airfork with HM Carbon Fiber / AL6061 lowers & AL7050 hard anodized 30mm stanchions and adjustable rebound, lockout and compression and 15mm Thru-Axle.
  5. Stealth dropper post ready.
  6. Available with tubeless ready wheels and tires.
  7. Rear hub with 12mm Thru-Axle.
  8. Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes.
  9. SRAM GX 10-speed drivetrain. This 10-speed derailleur has a short cage. Because of the small wheel diameter on 20-in bikes, rear derailleurs on 20-inch bikes hang low and close to the ground. The Prevelo Zulu Three uses a high performance short cage derailleurs to keep things high and away from the ground. The derailleur also features a clutch that can be turned on with the flip of a switch to eliminate derailleur bounce over hard terrain and reduce chain drops.
  10. 11-36T wide span gearing gives riders plenty of range to spin up tough hills.
  11. Kid engineered direct mount cranks. All Prevelo cranks are sized specifically for each model bike, down to the millimeter.
  12. 95% assembled. Just install the handlebar, seatpost, frontwheel, and pedals.

    Just amazing!

This is my sons second Zulu and he loves this one even more than the last. He rides it everywhere, local trails and even to the shops he just doesn’t want to ride anything else! When you see the bikes in person, the attention to detail is really amazing, and for the level of quality you are getting I think the price is very fair. If your little one loves the trails, don’t think twice, get a Zulu. The countless hours of fun and memories you’ll have together is so worth it!

Worth every penny and the wait!!

We cannot recommend Prevelo enough!! This bike is fantastic. Simple to put together out of the box and it was already set up. The gearing.... The disc brakes... the light weight.... the color... I could go on. I get tears in my eyes thinking about how awesome this bike is. And my son's love for it abounds!! It fits him now and room for growth.

    Super Sweet Li'l Rippers Ride

I bought this for our six year old son who's an advanced mountain biker for his age. He loves this bike. It fits him perfectly (48" tall and about 45 lbs) and you've done a great job to keep the weight down to a respectable level which is key for him since he doesn't weigh too much. The geometry and frame design is fantastic and largely why I chose the Zulu Three Heir. His inaugural rides on it were in Sedona for the week over Spring Break which allowed him to ride on a variety of conditions - from buff, flowy loam to sweet technical ledges, drops, etc and everything in between (think Slim Shady, Templeton, Easy Breezy). The rake of the bike is outstanding. He was able to roll some large drops that he couldn't jump that I wasn't sure would be makeable for him. And, for jumping/dropping, the degree of rake provides a bit of extra stability without taking away from the agile nature of the bike. He also loves going to dirt jump and downhill parks. He's ridden in a few dirt jump parks and he's psyched on how it handles. I know it will be great on true downhill trails once some parks start to open up this summer. All in all, he couldn't be more stoked. It's a super sweet bike that has perfect balance for all the usual types of riding li'l rippers love.

    Prevelo is amazing

When our youngest son started to get frustrated on his Specialized Hotrock 16 (because of the coaster break and the weight) I started doing research. We needed a bike that had hand breaks and was a reasonable weight for a 5 year old to handle on the trails. We decided to invest in the Prevelo Alpa Two and, man, was it worth it! It completely changed biking for our little guy. Suddenly he could keep up with the rest of the family on trails and his love of biking grew exponentially. When it came time to trade up to a 20” I did my research again and again came back to Prevelo. The customer service is unmatched! I called Prevelo with some questions about the Zulu Three and was blown away by the responsiveness and personalized service. We live in Maine and we got the bike in January (aka snow season) but he has already taken it out on a few rides because he just couldn’t wait to ride his new Zulu Three. The quality of the parts is superb and the bike is perfectly designed for a young rider. We are all thrilled.

Excellent Bike - worth the investment

My son loves this bike! At first he wasn't convinced because it was not his favorite color (red), but after riding a few times on the trails he realized how awesome this bike is. His riding has gotten so much better over the last 2 months. He is finally able to shift gears (his old bike had the revo twist shifters and he could not shift those) and climbing hills without moaning! Major win! Yesterday we took it to a new pump track and he was riding for 3.5 hours straight. This high quality bike is an investment in your little rider, but if you are an avid biker and are taking the kid out on the trail it is a bike that can make them a much stronger rider! If you're thinking about it, take into account how much awesome riding time you'll get with your little shredder and those memories created, not how many years they can ride that size. I absolutely would recommend buying this bike to anyone who is trying to get their kid interested in mountain biking.
