9-speed Microshift drive train and 11-36T wide range gearing is the real deal and gives growing riders truly usable and class leading, 327% gear range. Kids are going to be efficient on the flats and have the leverage of low gears available to help make it up tough hills.
Compared other kids bikes that typically offer 7 or 8 speeds the Alpha Three offers 72% (or more) additional gear range.
Prevelo crank lengths are custom sized for each size bike to make sure little riders have optimum pedal ergonomics. And they have ultra-narrow Q-factors to match the narrow hips of young cyclists. If that sounds like technical mumbo jumbo, here's the point - Prevelo cranks will help make small riders more comfortable and efficient on their bike.
The Alpha Three features industry leading Dual-Alloy Chainring Guards that both protected little fingers from getting caught in the mechanics and protect the chainring from impacts.
This is where little riders command their steed. It's decked out with ultra thin grips and short reach brake levers that are optimized for small hands. The Microshift shifter is operated with two easy to operate thumb levers.
The Alpha Three features Prevelo's signature confidence inspiring geometry. Prevelo geometry utilizes a low bottom bracket that lowers the center of gravity of the bike and rider, making for a more agile and confident ride.

Moved from Alpha two to this and definitely are the best bikes in entire neighborhood. These might "look" expensive compared to other bikes u see frequently, but trust me, they cost way less than what they feel their real worth is.
I'm a bike riding parent. I have a commuter, a mountain bike, and a family cargo bike. My little started with a wooden scoot bike, then balance bike, then pedal bike when he was 3. Those things don't make us unusual. But my little had some developmental delays and weakness and despite high levels of motivation, was a cautious and timid rider. Prevelo makes perfect bikes for us. The components are super high end, the geometry makes it possible for kids to get on and go with little to no practice, and it's so lightweight that it's super manageable. It means kids can have fun on varied terrain (we pump track and mountain bike) and can ride modest hills. When we graduate from the Alpha Two, to the gears on the Alpha Three, we were able to climb more hills together and my 5 year old is thrilled to have the control over the gears! And this company has amazing customer service. I couldn't be happier.
With pandemic bike shortages so prevalent, it was difficult to try many bikes from shops, so I preorded this one months in advance and so glad I did. My 5 year old loves it, and so I love it. It is a better bike by almost every metric to any competing bike I have had a chance to try out (mostly from big box brands like Trek, Cannondale, Giant...) I love the gear range and ease of shifting (it can be hard for little hands!) also the adjustable brake reach is great. All that and it's light enough my tiny 5 year old can pedal herself up hills that she was too scared to even ride down a month ago. This bike has inspired confidence in her growing ability and honestly I can't recommend it enough.
Excellent purchase. An instant hit with my 6 yo. He has been riding for years and is very comfortable - more so than any kid his age so have seen. Stepping up from a specialized kids bike (like 16”), he immediately loved this bike and even got the brakes and the gears without any issue. The whole bike seems built for a kid his size - and I don’t say that lightly as my daughter who is 8 got a Bianchi kids bike last year and this bike is superior. It’s not cheap, but well worth it. Very fast and light as well. It’s not big for him to grow into- seems perfect for his size now. I also like that the seat is easily adjustable. I’ll be getting him the size up when it’s time. 10/10.
2 years ago, we got our son his first Prevelo, the Alpha One on his 3rd birthday. Now we were ready for the Alpha Three for his 5th birthday (he's 44" tall, 47lbs). We called and were told that they were out of stock and supply chain disruptions meant that we would not have one before his 5th birthday. We were very sorry to hear this, though understandable in the global scheme of things during Covid. A few days later, we received a surprise email from Sarah saying they found one in their stock and it was the exact color we were looking for and were we interested. Of course we were, we ordered it, and it was delivered exactly as promised. So as usual, Prevelo met and exceeded our expectations when it came to customer care. The bike itself was great -- beautiful, easy to setup, instructions were obvious and all tools provided. Our son had no problems riding it right away. It was easy to handle, at the lowest seat height, he could put both his feet on the ground without any problems which is comforting. The shifters were also fine, and he can shift both up and down comfortably. We have gone on 6-7mile bike rides over both paved and unpaved terrain the bike handles all that very well. So bottom line, great bike, great company and good customer care.
