The HEIR cranks are custom sized for each bike size to make sure little riders have optimum pedal ergonomics. The ultra-narrow Q-factors matches narrow hips of young cyclists. Technical mumbo jumbo translation: more comfort and efficiency for small riders. We also updated our chainguard to ensure shoelaces and pant legs stay snag free.
The Alpha Two's unique frame is designed to keep riders low, confident and agile. The unique THRU-TUBE™unlocks class leading low seat height and seat height range, and improves pedaling ergonomics while keeping the rider's feet close to the ground.
The unique interface between the seat post and saddle allow the Frame Hugger saddle to get ultra low to accomodate small riders, while providing an ultra-wide height adustment range for growing riders.
The hubs are equipped with rounded axle bolts that minimize hard edges. And because kids are going to run their bikes through muck, the hubs have rubber seals to keep out dirt and grime.
This is where little riders command their steed. It's decked out with ultra small diameter grips and brake levers that are designed for small hands, and have reach adjustment.
Kids are going to put their bikes through the ringer, so Prevelo bikes are built kid tough with robust BMX track style forged dropouts that shroud the rear axle.
Getting your kids the right size bike is important and, fortunately, also easy. You just need two pieces of information about your little rider:
Children who are learning are more sensitive to bicycle height than children who already know how to ride a bike. If the rider is new we recommend erring on the side of a smaller bike. If the rider is experienced and confident, it is OK to err on the side of a larger bike.
We include ride age as guidance for our bikes as a quick reference. But because riders of the same age can have very different sizes, inseam is a more reliable size indicator than age.

This is truly an exceptional bike! My small 4-year-old seamlessly and instantly transitioned from a balance bike to the Alpha Two. She's 5 now and for the past 15 months she's been tearing up the neighborhood and some milder local trails. Easily rides 4 miles at a time in our relatively hilly area and will do 6+ mile rides with decent elevation profiles given the right motivation (usually a friend to chase). We ride several times a week (almost daily) and with only regular bike washing (which she prefers to do herself) and dry lube on the chain this bike has held up to the mileage superbly with no component failures or issues. She can ride circles around much older kids on less optimally designed bikes. The geometry is perfect - keeping the center of gravity low for excellent bike handling and confident positioning. It's lightweight - which is crucial for my kid on the tiny end of the growth curve. Handlebars are small enough for kid hands to maintain control and comfortably use the breaks. Customer service is extraordinary! Upgrading to the Alpha Three as she's grown taller and progressed enough in her riding that I think the time has come to take that next step.
Such a great bike. The quality of materials and craftsmanship is apparent at every level. Clearly these folks take allot of pride in their product. Couldn't be happier with our purchase. Our rider is a small 5 yr old (32nd percentile) and he fits great using the shorter seat tube included in the shipment. Love that they included that! The bike is so well put together and adjustable that I'm confident we'll be able to use it for years, and still be able to pass it on to siblings and cousins.
We are loving our Alpha Two! We picked up a used Alpha Zero earlier this summer and now that our almost three year old has mastered that we needed to size up and get in a bike with pedals. She is a tall gal for almost three so we skipped over the Alpha one and onto the two. As for the bike after seeing the quality of the Alpha Zero there wasn’t a lot of questions for what brand we wanted to go with for our next size up bike. The Alpha two will be in our family for a few years and be ridden by both our kids. It’s nice to know there are really bike parts on this bike that can be replaced if needed. 100% recommend Prevelo bikes!
Excellent experience, fast shipping, great packaging and my son loves his new bike. Mom and Dad are happy with the high quality and fit. His riding confidence immediately increased with this bike after transition from the big box store bike he was riding prior.
