Powerful hydraulic disc brakes give kids plenty of stopping power on long descents. Rear disc brake requires Zulu One Rear Disc Brake Kit.
This is where little riders command these steed. It's decked out with ultra small diameter grips and short reach brake levers that are optimized for small hands.
The Zulu One features Prevelo's signature confidence inspiring geometry. Prevelo geometry utilizes a low bottom bracket that lowers the center of gravity of the bike and rider, making for a more agile and confident ride. The slack front end makes the bike forgiving to young trail riders experimenting with tough terrain.
Prevelo crank lengths are custom sized for each size bike to make sure little riders have optimum pedal ergonomics. And they have ultra-narrow Q-factors to match the narrow hips of young cyclists. If that sounds like technical mumbo jumbo, here's the point - Prevelo cranks will help make small riders more comfortable and efficient on their bike.
Kids are going to put their bikes through the ringer, so Prevelo bikes are built kid tough with robust BOXT rear chainstays and seat stays, and BMX track style forged dropouts that shroud the rear axle.
The Zulu One comes equipped with a coaster brake in order to comply with US regulations. The rear disc brake kit allows you to remove the coaster brake and install a rear disc brake. It includes:
Getting your kids the right size bike is important and, fortunately, also easy. You just need two pieces of information about your little rider:
Children who are learning are more sensitive to bicycle height than children who already know how to ride a bike. If the rider is new we recommend erring on the side of a smaller bike. If the rider is experienced and confident, it is OK to err on the side of a larger bike.
We include ride age as guidance for our bikes as a quick reference. But because riders of the same age can have very different sizes, inseam is a more reliable size indicator than age.

Our son loves this bike. It’s close to the ground so it instills confidence he’s already riding down a couple of stairs thanks to the slack geometry. And the 14” wheels are perfect for his 4 year old body. Just a great bike there is nothing else like it.
Worth every penny, no doubt. For the very first real bike I see no better option.
I'm excite..... and I would like to be a little boy again!
I bought this for my son to upgrade from a balance bike. The Zulu One fits him perfectly (he's five, and about 41" tall), and the disc brakes are an awesome addition. It does great on dirt, and I can't wait to take him on some longer rides!
The Zulu One is the perfect bike for transitioning to a pedal bike for younger and shorter children. My 3-yo had been riding a couple of different push bikes since he was one, and has been asking for a pedal bike. Although he had never pedaled anything before, he was able to balance and started pedaling on his first ride. The additional short seat post and overall ergonomics of the bike are perfect, and the bike will grow with him for several years. I also like that there are real hand brakes instead of coaster brakes, and they are very adjustable. My son is learning to use them instead of learning to use coaster brakes, which he won't have on his bigger bikes. This was a major selling point. Finally, the build of the bike is top-notch. It's not too heavy and will last a long time. This is good not just because it is bound to take some hits from my son, but it will retain it's resale value for the future.
