    Purchase of Bicycles

All bicycle purchases are subject to the warnings contained on product labels, in the owners manual.

As with many recreational activities, bicycling can be hazardous and accidents can and do occasionally occur. Make sure that you understand the importance of each of the following items listed below.  Buyers, and those supervising riders, assume complete responsibility for each of these items:

    • The need to wear a helmet and other appropriate protective gear and the consequences of not wearing them.
    • The need for bike lights and additional reflectors for riding at dawn, dusk and after dark.
    • The need for the rider to properly understand bicycle operation, including brake operation, and for regular equipment maintenance.
    • The need for adult supervision for child riders.
    • The proper usage and adjustment of the wheel and seat post retention mechanism on my bicycle.
    • The importance of reading the bicycle owner’s manual.
    • Unless assembled in by a professional bicycle mechanic, the proper reassembly of my equipment.

Understand that bicycle riding involves certain risks, including but not limited to the risk of serious injury or death. When you ride, or allow a child to ride, you assume full responsibility for the risks involved. Ensure that children are properly instructed on bicycle operation and supervised.  Explain these points to others who use the bicycle, including parents, guardians or supervisors of children who use the bicycle.
