Easy to activate hydraulic disc brakes give kids plenty of stopping power on long descents.
This is where little riders command these steed. It's decked out with ultra small diameter grips and short reach brake levers that are optimized for small hands.
The Zulu Two features Prevelo's signature confidence inspiring trail geometry. Prevelo geometry utilizes a low bottom bracket that lowers the center of gravity of the bike and rider, making for a more agile and confident ride. The slack front end makes the bike forgiving to young trail riders experimenting with tough terrain.
The HEIR cranks are custom sized for each size bike to make sure little riders have optimum pedal ergonomics. And they have ultra-narrow Q-factors to match the narrow hips of young cyclists. If that sounds like technical mumbo jumbo, here's the point - the HEIR cranks will help make small riders more comfortable and efficient on their bike.
Kids are going to put their bikes through the ringer, so Prevelo bikes are built kid tough with robust BOXT rear chainstays and seat stays, and BMX track style forged dropouts that shroud the rear axle.
The Zulu Two HEIR comes equipped with the HEIR 16 fork with 60mm of travel, adjustable rebound, lockout and compression
"The most trail-capable 16-inch kids’ bike we’ve ever tried."
I am quite jealous of my sons new Zulu 2. It literally is a scaled down mtb and looks very slick. I wanted a safe bike to introduce ds to mtbing and currently in Oz we cant buy 16" bikes without back pedal, nanny state. The postage made me choke but fedex is very trustworthy and the bike arrived a month before it was promised. Another perk of buying direct from America atm. Prevelo have great service, they answered my emails within a day and it was very easy to change my order to add red grips after i had already paid. I felt very confident in buying through them even though initially it was a hard decision to make. Ds has just turned 4 and is 105cm tall. He fits it perfectly and is currently using the shorter seat post (two came with the bike), so he can easily reach the ground whilst learning to balance and pedal. He also loves the brakes and is very capable of using them. Why i chose prevelo after lots of research... Disc brakes that are also hydraulic and a free wheel at the back. Single speed for less complications. Mtb geometry and scaled down cockpit. Good tyres. Everything about the bike is designed for actual mountain biking. Im confident that he will be safe on this bike when we eventually build up to doing shuttles. And yeah the long review is because im so happy with the whole experience and the bike looks amazing. Thanks again Prevelo
Fantastic bike and company! Great communications and shipping on-time, and a personalized hand written thank you note was a nice touch. This bike exponentially ramped up my 4 year old daughters riding - from occasional to riding every single night. Much more confident on the hills with the hand brakes and at high speeds with the longer more relaxed geometry from a traditional bike. Is the front fork overkill so far, yes - is it totally awesome and make her pumped to have a bike like dad - YES. It will show it's value though as we start to explore rougher trails. The price pained me a little as I realized it was double the cost of my first mtn bike in college - but worth every damn penny!!!! Yes - I'm equally in love with it as my daughter. Great job Prevelo!
Beyond my expectations ! Wish I would have purchased the Heir version but this will do for now . Definitely picking up the 20” when the time comes . Great Job Zulu Family
We love the bike, as does the rest of the neighborhood. My son is now the envy of the neighborhood kids (and I am suddenly the ire of the neighborhood dads). The disc brakes are such an understated, yet incredible upgrade from standard bikes in this class and the oversized tires make maneuvering on and off-road significantly easier for my 6 year old, which is still finding his bearing on a two-wheel bike. Well done Prevelo. Well done.
Where do I start, the customer service is amazing, Jacob was able to help us out with getting the bike to ship for the holidays. When Fedex went haywire, he was on top of it and sending me updates. The bike... WOW... what an unbelievably rad bike for a kid. I was shocked at the quality! The frame welds and paint are far better than any kids bike should be... It's better than many adult bikes I've owned over the years from big name brands. The part selection is top notch too... having hubs that spin this freely is unheard of on a kids bike. From the minute my little dude got on it, he was comfortable and charging harder than I've ever seen him. He was way more confident and stoked he could go so much faster and hit his mini ramp at speed. I can't say enough good things about this company, just do you yourself a favor and go buy one... there's nothing else out there that comes even close... especially for the price.
